The Contractor shall place approximately 2,600-linear feet of temporary timber matting for access roads through existing wetlands. Approximately 1,303 cubic yards of concrete debris and associated soils are to be removed from historic wetland areas, properly disposed of offsite and replaced with topsoil to restore wetland areas. Two deteriorated wooden railroad bridges and associated abutments (approximately 200-cubic yards) are to be removed from the Ox Creek and disposed of properly offsite. Approximately 151 cubic yards of floodplain cut are proposed, including re-grading with approximately 57 cubic yards of clean topsoil. Approximately 28 cubic yards of clean fill consisting of 50% gravel, 50% sand is to be placed within stream bed gaps left from railroad removal. Approximately 130 linear feet of root wads and woody debris are to be placed to improve stream function, erosion control, and habitat. The trees for root wads and woody debris will come from clearing an existing 69 trees. Trees that have already been felled and some of the 69 trees will be chipped on site and used for a trail. Invasive species treatments will be applied to approximately four acres. Approximately 4-acres of emergent wetland, 1.1-acres of floodplain forest and 3.9-acres of southern mesic forest seed mixes will be planted. Approximately 150-bare root tree plugs and 36 x 2-inch caliper trees will also be planted. Bids will not be accepted from Bidders that do not attend the mandatory pre-bid conference.
