This project is for the milling and resurfacing of MLK JR. Avenue. The work under this bid generally consists of construction of milling and resurfacing for 1.06 miles, approximately 14,060 SY of Martin Luther King Jr., Avenue, from Salley Place to East Bay Street in Wauchula, Florida; the work shall be accompanied by improvement and replacement of side drainpipes as called for on the plans; approximately 1,700 linear feet of Type F Curb and Gutter, with associated drainage, shall be constructed on the northerly 850 feet of the project, with driveway aprons, ending at East Bay Street; three (3) existing cross-drains will remain, however concrete end walls shall be constructed at the center 47" x 71" CMP; guardrails will be constructed at all three (3) culvert crossings; approximately 15,000 SY of sod shall be placed along the right-of-way; the base will be resurfaced with approximately 970 tons of SP-9.5 and temporary striping, followed by approximately 780 tons of FC-9.5 with temporary striping, prior to the final striping (collectively the "Project). The Project will require traffic to be continuously maintained, with at least a one-way flagging operation during the day, with the roadway being open to two-way traffic at night.
