Site work and paving for a road / highway in Darlington, Wisconsin. Completed plans call for site work for a road / highway; and for paving for a road / highway.
Sealed bids are requested for the following work: milling 1.5 inches of existing roadway and supplying and laying a 3-inch mat of Hot Mix Asphalt with a State of Wisconsin Type E-1 HMA design mix, plus adding a 3-foot shoulder for two segments: STH 23 to CTH E (approximately 2.59 miles, 5,000 tons) and Red Rock Road to McDonald Bridge (5.03 miles, 11,000 tons). All work must be completed by September 15, 2026. Each bid must be accompanied by a cashier's check, money order, or bidder's bond for not less than 5% of the total bid, made payable to Lafayette County Highway Department. The successful bidder will be required to furnish performance and payment bonds each for not less than 100% of the contract. Bidders are subject to Wisconsin State Statutes Sections 59.52(29), 66.0901, and 66.0903. Wages must not be less than local wage rates. The contract will be awarded to the lowest responsible bidder, but the county reserves the right to reject any or all bids, split or adjust bid portions, and to waive or not waive any informality. Proposals received after the announced opening time will not be considered. No proposal may be withdrawn after opening unless delayed beyond 60 days.
