Relocation of existing 12-inch sanitary sewer and 16-inch water main crossing the existing White Ditch Culvert, to be replaced due to INDOT's U.S. 12 Small Structure at White Ditch Project (Des. No. 2100844). Bids will only be accepted from Plan Holders of Record. Copies of the contract documents and plans are available for examination at the Michigan City Department of Water Works and at the offices of the Engineer, Lawson-Fisher Associates P.C. Copies may be obtained at a non-refundable cost of $150.00 per set at Lawson-Fisher Associates P.C. Each bidder must submit a certified check payable to the Michigan City Department of Water Works or a satisfactory bid bond executed by the bidder and surety company for five percent (5%) of the bid. The awarded bidder must provide a separate performance bond and payment bond, each in the amount of one-hundred twenty-five percent (125%) of the contract price before commencing work. These bonds shall remain in effect throughout the entire construction period, and a maintenance bond in the amount of 10% for a period of three years from the date of final completion will also be required. Each bidder is required to complete all documents listed in the Checklist for Bidders and the Bid Form included. The substantial completion date shall be September 25, 2026, and the final completion date shall be October 2, 2026. The Michigan City Water Works Board reserves the right to reject any and all bids, to waive any irregularities in bidding, and to make an award in the best interest of the City. No bid or bid security may be withdrawn after the scheduled closing time for receipt of bids for at least sixty (60) days.
