Renovation of an industrial development in Porterville, California. Completed plans call for the renovation of a industrial development.
Contractor to furnish all labor, materials, tools, equipment, and transportation necessary to install MV transformers, electrical conduit, fittings, and wire. All materials including load break elbows, load break junctions, and bushing caps to be new. Furnish and install all necessary labor, materials, equipment, and incidentals required to perform the work described herein and as shown on the Drawings. The work generally involves the replacement of existing interior oil and dry-type transformers with exterior pad-mounted units at the locations listed in Paragraph B below. The work includes interception of existing underground medium voltage circuits for redirection to new transformer locations, new secondary conductors to existing main panels, and the installation of medium voltage load break connectors in existing vault numbers MH-13, MH-14, MH17, MH-19, MH-32, MH-33, MH-35 and MH-36. The work includes disconnection of existing medium voltage feeder conductors, demolition and removal of existing transformers to be replaced; installation of new transformers, concrete pads, hardware, grounding, terminations; new underground conduits and conductors where required; and the startup and testing of all equipment shown and specified in order to restore complete and operational electrical service to the areas included in the scope. Refer to the plans for detail of work required at each of the buildings and electric vaults identified. B. Project location: Porterville Developmental Center (PDC), 26501 Avenue 140, Porterville, CA. Specific building locations as follows: 7 South Circle Drive (MH-36) 8 South Circle Drive (MH-35) 9 South Circle Drive (MH-32) 10 South Circle Drive (MH-32) 16 South Circle Drive (MH-33) 17 South Circle Drive (MH-35) 21 North Sequoia Drive (MH-13) 22 North Sequoia Drive (MH-14) 25 Sequoia Drive (MH-17) - Bid Alternate 1 26 Sequoia Drive (MH-19) - Bid Alternate 2 C. The work tasks also include, but are not limited to (see Drawings for additional or supplemental work requirements): 1. Disposition of all oil-filled transformers removed from each building's electrical room. 2. Furnish and install a new 400A, 120/208V 3-phase, 4-wire distribution panel at 10 South Circle Drive, and re-feed the existing 225-amp Panel M from this new panel. See Keynote 11 and single line diagram on Sheet E-4. 3. Repair or replace all existing irrigation sprinklers and piping affected by the installation of the new exterior pad-mount transformers. Orient all sprinkler heads so that water is directed away from the transformer housing. 4. Perform all saw-cutting, trenching, backfilling, and surface restoration required to restore areas around each new padmounted transformer to original condition. 5. Furnish and install temporary generator power as required to maintain electrical service to areas of PDC affected by the work. See Part 1.02, Power Interruptions, for additional requirements. 6. Test, adjust and place into service all equipment furnished for this project. Test all new medium voltage cable terminations, and furnish test reports to the PDC Chief of Plant Operations III or his designee. D. At the completion of this project, the Contractor will be required to submit hard and electronic copies of the equipment asbuilt drawings, which accurately represent the as-installed conditions at each electrical vault, and Operation and Maintenance Manuals (3 copies of each) Provide training, where required, on the use and maintenance of the new equipment installed under this scope of work. Should any question or conflict arise regarding the interpretation or performance of the contract, an attempt shall be made by the Contractor and the Department Manager responsible for the contract to discuss and resolve the matter. If resolution is not reached, the Contractor shall notify the Administrative Services Director (ASD) in writing of any dispute concerning this contract within fifteen (15) days of the discussion between the Contractor and Department Manager.
