Renovation of an educational facility in Porterville, California. Completed plans call for the renovation of a educational facility.
The work includes replacement of existing concrete walks and reconfiguration of fencing to provide an accessible path of travel to the visitor side of the stadium and accessibility upgrades to the existing restrooms. Bids shall be on a lump sum basis. The work is to be completed within 40 calendar days from the date of the Owner's Notice to Proceed. Sealed bids with a subcontractor's list and other required attachments will be accepted by the Porterville Unified School District at its offices. Within 24 hours of the bid opening, the apparent low bidder must submit completed DIR information on the Subcontractor List, and the Prime Bidder Good Faith Effort Worksheet and Prime Bidder Certification of Disabled Veteran Business Enterprise Participation forms, to the District at its Operations Yard. A mandatory pre-bid conference is scheduled at the project site, and bids will only be accepted from those who attend. Contract documents may be obtained from the architect, with conditions for deposits and charges for additional or shipped sets. Only plan holders and listed exchanges will receive Addenda. Substitution requests for materials must meet the specification requirements and be submitted at least 10 days prior to bid, except for certain items specified by the Owner. Bid security in the amount of 10% of the bid is required. Contractors must be licensed in California with a Class B license through Project completion. The Owner reserves the right to reject any and all bids and to determine bidder responsibility. The project requires payment of prevailing wages, DIR registration, and compliance with labor regulations. The successful bidder may substitute securities for retainage. Bids must include specified certifications and forms. Compliance with DSA Oversight Process and a minimum goal of 3% DVBE participation or acceptable good faith effort is required.
