Site work and new construction of an educational facility in York, Alabama. Completed plans call for the construction of a educational facility.
Sealed proposals will be received for the Sumter Central High School Career Technical Education Annex. A cashier's check or bid bond payable to Sumter County Board of Education in an amount not less than five percent of the bid, but not more than $10,000, must accompany the proposal. Performance and payment bonds and evidence of insurance required in the bid documents will be needed at contract signing. Drawings and specifications may be examined at the office of the Architect, and bid documents can be obtained upon deposit, which is refundable under certain conditions. Bid bonds are to be issued by an acceptable bonding company licensed in the State, with a Power of Attorney to confess judgment, and must guarantee that the bidder will not withdraw the bid for sixty days and will enter into a formal contract if accepted. Bids must be submitted on forms furnished by the Architect. Bidders exceeding the State Licensing Board threshold must be licensed under Title 34, Chapter 8, Code of Alabama, and must display the license number on the envelope. The owner reserves the right to reject any or all proposals and waive technical errors if it serves the owner's best interests. Nonresident bidders must include an attorney's opinion about preference laws in their state.
