The work consists of removing and replacing an existing condenser water pump skid serving the chiller plant at the Bay Pines VA Healthcare System. The condenser water pump provides circulation for the chiller and supports cooling to the walk-in refrigeration system serving the main hospital kitchen. The contractor shall furnish all labor, supervision, materials, tools, equipment, and expertise necessary to perform the work in accordance with applicable VA requirements and industry standards. The scope includes coordination of system shutdown, isolation, and drain-down of the condenser water loop; execution of lockout/tagout procedures; disconnection and removal of the existing pump and motor skid; and furnishing and installing two new factory-assembled split-case pump and motor skids sized to match the existing service duty, with final sizing verified against existing system requirements. Work includes all required mechanical piping connections such as new gaskets, flanges, isolation valves, suction strainers, and pressure gauges; installation of vibration isolation, flexible connectors, and anchoring in accordance with manufacturer requirements; and restoration of disturbed insulation, paint, and labeling to VA standards. Electrical work includes disconnection of the existing pump motor and reconnection of the new pump motor, verification of conductors and phase rotation, coordination of overcurrent protection, and compliance with applicable electrical safety standards. The contractor shall perform laser shaft alignment of the pump and motor, support startup and commissioning activities, verify proper operation, refill and vent the condenser water loop, and assist in returning the chiller and downstream kitchen walk-in cooling system to normal service. The scope also includes removal and disposal of all replaced equipment and debris. Deliverables include manufacturer submittals and cut sheets, pump curve verification, electrical reconnection documentation, laser alignment report, startup and commissioning report, warranty information, maintenance manuals, as-built documentation reflecting final installation conditions, and a final inspection report. All work shall be completed within 60 calendar days from receipt of the Notice to Proceed, with work coordinated to minimize operational impacts to the facility.
