The Resort Municipality of Whistler invites qualified proponents to provide proposals to install erosion protection measures for a section of Fitzsimmons Creek bank downstream of the Lost Lake Entrance Bridge at Passive House, Whistler, British Columbia. The Resort Municipality of Whistler (RMOW) invites qualified Proponents to provide proposals to install erosion protection measures for a section of Fitzsimmons Creek bank downstream of the Lost Lake Entrance Bridge at Passive House (Project). Fitzsimmons creek is a dynamic creek with a history of debris-laden flash floods during heavy weather, carrying a heavy sediment load of gravels and cobbles from the source catchments and from the steep channel upstream of the RMOW. Due to flash flooding and the steep channel grade, the right bank of the creek is experiencing erosion and instability. This project seeks to install 3 rock spurs to act as a barrier limiting erosion at the base of the bank. The rock spurs will be constructed of riprap and will be placed into the creek. As the Project is dependent on regulatory approval of the proponent's proposed workplan, the RMOW reserves the right to defer the works to the 2027 in-stream work window. This will be necessary should the regulatory permits not be obtained in sufficient time to complete the works within the 2026 fisheries timing window. Any such deferral shall be subject to revised pricing based on the British Columbia Consumer Price Index.
