The Department of Technology, Management and Budget (DTMB) on behalf of Michigan Department of Natural Resources (DNR), is requesting professional engineering services to perform Phase 100 Professional Services at the Holly State Game Area, Holly, Michigan. The intent of this selection process is to contract with a qualified licensed firm to provide professional services that will evaluate the current condition of Thread Creek Dam. The evaluation document will provide various options for removal or replacement of the dam including costs, aiming to remove the Part 315 EGLE designation. EGLE has rated this dam as failing and the impoundment was drawn down in 2025. All but one stop log remains across the current inlet structure. Staff will be using the developed assessment to help inform future management decisions about the dam and earthen embankment. The work includes identifying permitting requirements for the work.
