Question Deadline 05/21/2026 at 5:00 PM ET Online Portal DESCRIPTION OF WORK (continued): - 4 - Bid Item No. 1: Mobilization: Shall consist of the assembling of labor, equipment, and materials and setting up for the project. The cost of required insurance and bonds and/or any other initial expense required for the start of work will be included in this item. Bid Item No. 2: Maintenance and Protection of Traffic: Contractor shall be responsible for temporary traffic control in accordance with PennDOT Pub. 213. Appropriate sections of the roadway may be closed to through traffic during work hours but must be re-opened at the end of each work day. Local traffic must be accommodated. Advance road closure posting at the limits of work shall be placed at least five (5) calendar days in advance with anticipated construction dates. Bid Item No. 3: Milling, 1-1/2" depth: Mill existing pavement and properly dispose of material, as directed. Unit price per square yard shall include all handwork around valves, manholes, concrete curb, and gutter. Unit price bid per square yard shall include street sweeping after milling work has been completed. Milling work shall include an even depth of 1-1/2 inches and match existing grade and cross-section of street. Bid Item No. 4: Base Repair: Unit price per square yard shall include saw cutting, proper disposal of existing material to proper depth, placement and compaction of 8" 2A stone, uniform application of PG 64S-22 on inside vertical edge of sawcut asphalt, and placement of 3" of 19 mm Superpave Binder Course. Base repairs must be completed after milling. Location and size of necessary base repairs will be determined and field-marked by the engineer or inspector. Bid Item No. 5: Superpave Wearing Course, 9.5 mm (1-1/2" compacted depth): Furnish, place, and compact Superpave wearing course, 9.5 mm, PG 64S-22, 0 to <0.3 million ESAL's, SRL-L, in accordance with current PennDOT Publication 408. Unit price per ton bid shall include: sweeping, tack coating, cutting of paving notches, rolled bituminous curb where directed, sealing all new joints with rubberized sealant, and adjustment of all water valves, gas valves, and manhole covers to grade. Bituminous paver shall be self-propelled with activated screed. Contractor shall provide two (2) rollers; 10-ton tandem roller and vibratory roller; or two vibratory rollers. Contractor will be required to coordinate with Wrightsville Borough for any necessary adjustment of water valves and manholes to grade. Contractor will be responsible for acquiring, at no cost to owner, metal extension rings or other means necessary for grade adjustments, if required. Adjust gas valve covers to grade through coordination with the utility owner. Payment for an amount higher than the contracted amount will not be made without prior authorization
