The County of Riverside Purchasing Department on behalf of Riverside County Fire is seeking bids from qualified firms for on-call weed abatement service. The County intends to award to multiple on-call contractors to provide weed abatement services in accordance with the terms, conditions, and specifications outlined. All work must be performed in a professional and workmanlike manner consistent with industry standards and in compliance with all applicable federal, state, and local laws, regulations, and ordinances. Contracts resulting from this process will be effective for one year, with the option to renew for up to four additional one-year periods with no guarantee of any specified amount of service. The purpose is to select qualified contractors to provide on-call weed abatement services to parcels posing a fire danger and requiring hazard reduction in accordance with applicable fire codes, abatement ordinances, and public safety regulations within the unincorporated areas of Riverside County. The County intends to establish an on-call list of contractors by hazard reduction zone and rank bidders in order of lowest responsive and responsible evaluated pricing for each zone. Work assignments will be offered first to the contractor ranked 1st in the applicable zone, and if they decline, do not respond within the specified timeframe, are unable to meet deadlines, or are suspended for non-performance, the assignment will be offered to the next ranked contractor in sequence. Ranking remains in effect for the contract term unless a contractor is terminated, suspended, or withdraws. There is no guarantee of any minimum quantity of work.
