Cosumnes Community Services District is seeking architectural and engineering proposals for the Fire Station 46 Annex Building project. Bidders are advised to refer to the RFP for more information. The District has been awarded an $850,000 federal grant to fund the total project, which includes Architectural and Engineering Services, construction, and all soft costs, e.g., permits, inspection, CCSD project management. The purpose of this project is to design and construct a new standalone support building on the Fire Station 46 campus. Based on the District's evaluation of the available site and project funding, the proposed project envisions the construction of a pre-engineered metal building (PEMB) located west of the existing fire station. The new structure will not be connected to the main station, but a breezeway will be built between the two buildings to ensure safe and efficient access for personnel. The PEMB structure will include: o Enclosed storage space for one wildland fire engine o A dedicated PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) storage area o Separate, designated areas for EMS and custodial supply storage o A fully equipped workout room for firefighter fitness and wellness As part of site preparation, the project will require the removal of existing fencing and storage containers, as well as the grading and clearing of existing materials to ensure a stable construction foundation. The new facility will be equipped with electrical power for lighting and climate control systems. The project will not require potable water, sewer, or gas; the building does not require fire suppression. Method of contractor selection has not been determined at this time.
