The Matanuska-Susitna Borough is soliciting bids from qualified contractors to provide labor, equipment and materials to reconstruct a portion of South Burma Road. The approximately 0.81-mile project will realign and widen the existing roadway to accommodate a 24-foot gravel road with 2-foot gravel shoulders and drainage ditching. Road surface course will be comprised aggregate surface course, grading E-1. Excavation required (24,570 CY) will generate adequate usable excavation to construct the roadway structural section and general fill required for the project. Construction includes 3,701 tons of aggregate surface course E-1, 90 linear feet of 12" Corrugated Steel Pipe (CSP), 66 linear feet of 18" CSP, 296 linear feet of 24" CSP and 8,575 square yards of topsoil.
