Site work for a mixed-use development in Wasilla, Alaska. Completed plans call for site work for a playground / park / athletic field.

This project will install two new electrical service meter bases within the Bumpus Recreational Area to support the Softball Complex and Soccer Field. Bidders shall carefully review this ITB for defects and questionable or objectionable material. Bidders' comments concerning defects and questionable or objectionable material in the ITB must be made in writing and received by the purchasing authority at least ten (10) days before the bid opening date. Scope of Work: A- Softball Complex Restroom - 400A Meter Base Serving 200A Panel Provide and install a 400-amp electrical service for the Softball Complex Restroom Facility in compliance with applicable International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC) standards, the National Electrical Code (NEC), MEA requirements, and State of Alaska regulations. 1A- Contractor will provide and attach meter base backing on City-constructed base posts (4" pipe). Backing shall be constructed in line with MEA details and consist of pressure-treated wood and galvanized hardware sufficient to support the meter base structure. 2A- The remote meter base structure will house a 400-amp MEA-compliant meter base provided by contactor. This meter base will serve the new existing 200-amp main breaker panel inside the restroom facility. The contractor shall provide meter, conduit, supports, grounding systems, terminations, and components required for MEA metering and system energization. 3A-Install underground service lateral conductors from the remote 400-amp meter base to the existing 200-amp breaker panel, routed approximately 200 feet. Conductor and conduit sizes shall meet IEC/NEC requirements for ampacity and voltage drop based on final routing. The assumed installation uses minimum 3/0 aluminum conductors in 2-inch Schedule 80 PVC conduit for the 200- amp service (final sizing to be verified per actual length, routing, and MEA requirements). 4A-Trenching for underground electrical service shall include placement of conduit at a typical burial depth of 24 inches to the top of conduit (or deeper as required by MEA/NEC), installation of red "Electric Line Below" warning tape 12 inches above the conduit, and backfilling with manual tamping or mechanical compaction to prevent settlement. Note: A 2-inch metallic 90-degree elbow was installed below grade through service block-out to aid in installation and limit the need for excavation under the structure Provide an exterior grounding electrode system compliant with IEC/NEC, including bonding of all metallic systems. Additional grounding shall be included due to the HDPE water service in place of copper. A single solid ground wire was stubbed through block-out to aid in installation. 5A -Provide limited connection wiring termination where the two halves of the building join within the utility room. (Wiring is existing and needs to be connected within the junction boxes.) B- Soccer Field Restroom - 200A Meter Base Serving Existing 100A Panel 1B- Provide and install a 200-amp electrical service for the Soccer Field Restroom Facility in compliance with IEC standards, NEC, MEA requirements, and State of Alaska regulations. A building-mounted 200-amp MEA-compliant meter base will serve as the main service entrance. The meter base will feed the new adjacent existing 100-amp breaker panel mounted on the exterior of the restroom facility. The contractor shall provide all conduit, supports, grounding components, and terminations required for MEA metering and system energization. 2B- Install service conductors from the 200-amp meter base to the new existing 100-amp breaker panel. Conductor and conduit sizes shall meet IEC/NEC requirements for ampacity and voltage drop based on final routing. 3B- Provide a dedicated service circuit for a proposed supplemental 2-inch water booster pump using the existing 100-amp panel. The pump load is assumed to be less than 2 amps. The contractor shall install a properly sized overcurrent device, branch-circuit conductors sized per IEC/NEC, approved conduit and fittings, and bonding of the pump equipment per IEC/NEC. Final breaker and conductor sizing shall be verified using pump nameplate data
