Richland County (the County) is seeking electronic bids from qualified contractors to provide for the Crane Creek Greenway Section B as a part of the Richland County Sales Tax Transportation Improvement Program. The proposed Crane Creek Greenway Section B project consists of combination of concrete pathway, retaining wall structure and boardwalks including two bridges. Bridge A over Smith Branch to be a concrete slab structure capable of carrying heavy construction and maintenance vehicles. Bridge B over Crane Creek to be a pre-engineered pedestrian structure. Project also includes the installation of light poles, park benches, waste receptacles, dog waste stations and emergency call boxes. The total length of the project is 3600 LF beginning at the Columbia Canal headgates and extending northward along the eastern embankment of the Broad River terminating at Crane Creek. Richland County is located in the center of South Carolina and covers a total area of 756 square miles. The County surrounds the state capital city of Columbia, which is also the County seat. Established in 1785, the County has grown to become home to just over 400,000 residents, and represents a thriving business, industrial, governmental, and educational center. The County employs approximately 1765 people and operates a general fund budget in excess of $100 million dollars.
