Renovation of an educational facility in Groton, Connecticut. Completed plans call for the renovation of a educational facility.
Sealed bids are invited for contracting the Charles Barnum Elementary School Roof Replacement, State Project No. 059-0192 RR. Bids must be received as specified. A bid bond for five percent of the base bid cost is required with each proposal. The successful bidder must provide a one hundred percent Performance Bond, a one hundred percent Labor & Materials Bond, and a Certificate of Insurance within ten days of notice of bid award. Bids must be held firm for ninety days beyond the bid opening date. Compliance with minimum wage laws and local, state, and federal requirements is required. Plans and specifications are available at no cost from the specified website. Bids must contain a Contractor Prequalification Certificate and Update (Bid) Statement with the classification ROOFING as a minimum. The contract is subject to state spending allocation goals and contract compliance requirements. The Town reserves rights regarding bid acceptance or rejection. Removal and replacement of existing masonry veneer where necessary to accommodate flashing. Removal and replacement of existing metal guardrail and ladders, roof hatch, and other roof accessories. Removal and replacement of deteriorated roof decking and wood blocking. Removal and replacement of existing unit skylights. Removal and replacement of existing roof drains and related piping and insulation. Provision and installation of TPO membrane, underlayment, and flat and tapered insulations. Provision and installation of new flashings, caps, fasciae, and other trim metal work as detailed and specified, including new collection boxes, downspouts, and scuppers. Offsite disposal of all removed materials.
