Site work and paving for a road / highway in Pleasant Prairie, Wisconsin. Completed plans call for site work for a road / highway.

The project consists of one prime contract bid as a base bid and generally includes the following: clearing and grubbing, pavement removal, excavation common, storm sewer, catch basins, base aggregate dense, asphaltic concrete pavement, concrete curb & gutter, sidewalk, traffic signals for three intersections, turf restoration, erosion control, traffic control, pavement marking, and construction staking. Approximate quantities include: 1,293 CY of excavation common; 78 LF of reinforced concrete storm sewer; 6 storm sewer structures; 2,267 tons of base aggregate dense; 1,075 tons of asphaltic concrete pavement; 1,122 LF of concrete curb & gutter; 2,959 SF of concrete sidewalk; traffic signals, concrete bases, signal conduit and wiring, control cabinet, vehicular detection system, emergency vehicle preemption, and signal interconnect; 3,275 SY of turf restoration; and silt fence and inlet protection. All contractors must comply with the Contractor Qualification Ordinance requiring pre-qualification prior to performing work on the contract. All subcontractors must be identified in the bid documents and pre-qualified prior to award of the contract. The bidder (prime contractor) shall perform with its own organization work amounting to not less than thirty percent (30%) of the total original contract price. Specialty items of work such as contractor staking, electrical work, landscaping and erosion control work, traffic control work, signing work, and pavement marking work may be excluded from the self-performance calculation. The prime contractor must be pre-qualified in applicable work categories sufficient to perform the required minimum thirty percent (30%) of the contract with its own forces. Prior to award, the bidder shall provide a list of bid items proposed to be self-performed if requested by the owner. Failure to comply may result in bid rejection or contract termination. Pre-qualification requirements: All contractor pre-qualifications must be complete and submitted 5 days prior to bid opening. Approved pre-qualifications will be posted prior to bid opening. All subcontractors must be pre-qualified prior to award. Applications for qualification forms may be obtained from the Village of Pleasant Prairie Clerk or the specified website.
