Site work and paving for a road / highway in Ames, Iowa. Completed plans call for site work for a road / highway.
The general nature of the work on which bids are requested is: 28,323 SY of pavement removal, 16,494 LF of curb and gutter, 3892 TON of HMA base course, 5262 TON of HMA intermediate and surface course, 597 LF of 8" PVC water main, 13,193 LF of 6" subdrain, storm sewer intake and manhole replacement, sanitary manhole replacement, major and minor structure adjustments and miscellaneous related work and appurtenances in accordance with the contract documents. Refer to sheet C.01 in the plans for item specifics and quantities. Work shall commence as soon as possible after award and approval of the contract and performance bond. Work shall be completed no later than the designated contract completion date of November 30, 2026 for Kentucky Avenue and Indiana Avenue and November 30, 2027 for Illinois Avenue, Hillcrest Avenue, Ellis Street, Oklahoma Drive and Delaware Avenue. Should the contractor fail to complete the work by this date, liquidated damages of $1,000 per calendar day will be assessed. The City does hereby reserve the right to reject any or all bids, to waive informalities, and to enter into such contract, or contracts, as it shall deem to be in the best interest of the City.
