Site work and paving for a mixed-use development in West Des Moines, Iowa. Completed plans call for site work for a water / sewer project; road / highway; and sidewalk / parking lot.

The project includes the furnishing of all labor, equipment, and materials for the construction of improvements at the 16th Street & Grand Avenue Intersection in West Des Moines, Iowa. The scope of work involves approximately 450 CY of Class 10 Excavation, 461 CY of Topsoil Onsite, 533 SY of Pavement Removal, 850 LF of Removal of Curb and Gutter, 893 SY of Concrete Pavement and Widening, 252.5 SY of Concrete Paving, 189.5 TON of HMA Overlay, 1,217 LF of PCC Curb and Gutter, 918 LF of RCP Storm Sewer sizes 15” to 48”, 19 Storm Sewer Structures, partial Sanitary Sewer manhole top reconstruction, Water Main Relocations, Pedestrian Hybrid Beacon Signal, Pavement Markings, Sodding, Traffic Control, Erosion Control, and other miscellaneous work within the City of West Des Moines. All work must be done in strict compliance with the Plans and Specifications prepared by Snyder & Associates, Inc. All bids must be submitted electronically using the form provided by the City. Each proposal must be electronically accompanied by a scanned copy of the bid bond or a cashier’s or certified check drawn on an Iowa or US bank in an amount equal to ten percent (10%) of the total bid. The successful bidder must furnish a performance and payment bond equal to one hundred percent (100%) of the contract price and a guarantee of maintenance in the form of surety for four years from acceptance. Preference is given to Iowa products, provisions, and labor, with further preference rules for resident versus non-resident bidders per Iowa statutes. Failure to submit a fully completed Bidder Status Form may result in rejection of the bid. Work must commence within ten days of notice to proceed, with substantial completion—excluding specific Pedestrian Hybrid Beacon items—required by a set date, and final completion including all remaining items and final site restoration required by a later date. Liquidated damages of $500 per day will be assessed for delays beyond the stipulated dates. Payment will be made by the City based on monthly estimates at ninety-seven percent of the value of completed work each month, subject to approval, with final payment at completion.
