Site work for a playground / park / athletic field in Piedmont, California. Completed plans call for site work for a playground / park / athletic field.
Documents will be provided by the City, including Technical Specifications and Project Plans, for execution of the work. The contractor must keep one copy accessible onsite. All such documents remain property of the City and must be returned upon completion. The Technical Specifications and Project Plans together describe all necessary work to complete the project in accordance with contract documents. If work is indicated in either the plans or specifications but not both, the contractor must still provide it. Any errors or inconsistencies must be reported to the Engineer for instructions. General Provisions apply equally to all work, including extra work as authorized. Shop diagrams and drawings must be submitted as required, showing details not previously specified, and reviewed by the Engineer for conformance with requirements. The contractor is to provide all equipment, tools, apparatus, facilities, material, labor, and skill necessary to perform and complete the Project in a good and workmanlike manner as shown in the Technical Specifications and Project Plans in accordance with the Contract Documents and applicable law. Bids must be uploaded electronically by the deadline and include all documents in the Bidder's Check List completed as specified. Bids must be presented under sealed cover using provided forms, bear the legal name of the bidder, and be signed by an authorized representative. Corrections must be initialed. No oral or telegraphic modifications are accepted. Bids must give full business address and required signatories. Only one bid per entity is allowed, but subcontract proposals or material quotes may be given to multiple bidders. Bidder's security must accompany each bid in the specified forms and amounts. Bids may be withdrawn in writing before the deadline, but not during the ninety days following bid opening except as permitted by law. Any protest of proposed award must be submitted in writing within the specified timeframe with complete statements, facts, and applicable references. Only parties who submitted a bid may file a protest. The City may reject any or all bids and may accept any portion of a bid unless the bid package requires award as a whole. The contract will be awarded to the responsible bidder submitting the lowest responsive bid. The successful bidder must submit all required documents within ten working days of award notice. All contractors and subcontractors must hold valid licenses and registrations as of bid opening or contract award. Bids not meeting requirements may be rejected. The contractor and any subcontractors must have valid local business licenses and submit a W-9 before work commences. Bidders must comply with California Labor Code requirements and submit a workers compensation certification. The project is subject to prevailing wage laws, and all applicable wage determinations are available at the Public Works office. Project bonds must be provided as specified. The contractor agrees to complete the work within 25 working days from instructions to proceed and to execute and provide all required documents within 10 days of notice of award. Failure to do so will result in forfeiture of bidder's security.
