The work consists of clearing designated areas by the removal and disposal of trees, logs, stumps, shrubs, brush, and rubbish, and shaping the stream channel as required. The contractor shall install measures and perform work to control erosion and minimize the production of sediment and other pollutants to water and air resulting from construction activities. The scope includes preparing areas for treatment by furnishing and placing seed, sprigs, mulch, fertilizer, inoculant, lime, and other soil amendments, and anchoring mulch in designated areas in accordance with the specifications. The work also includes mobilization and demobilization of the contractor's personnel, equipment, and materials necessary to perform the contract requirements. The contractor shall establish traffic control and maintain the safe and convenient use of public roads and rights-of-way throughout the project. Removal and management of surface water and groundwater as necessary to perform the construction in accordance with the specifications is required, including constructing, installing, maintaining, and subsequently removing temporary water containment facilities, channels, diversions, pumps, piping, and related equipment. Excavation required by the drawings and specifications, disposal of excavated materials, and construction of earth embankments, earthfills, and earth backfills are also included as part of the work.
