The Alhambra Unified School District intends to solicit bids for construction projects at four high schools, thirteen elementary schools, and various district facilities. Projects will include modernization and seismic retrofit of existing buildings, district-wide HVAC upgrades, electrical upgrades, district-wide roof replacement, abatement projects, hardscape upgrades, landscaping and irrigation upgrades, infrastructure upgrades including district-wide domestic water re-pipe, fencing and gate upgrades, door and window upgrades, playfield upgrades, site and building signage upgrades, ADA upgrades, lunch and shade structures, marquees, fire alarm upgrades, and drinking fountain upgrades. Bidders will be required to certify that they meet the Disabled Veteran Business Enterprise (DVBE) goal of three percent participation or have made a good faith effort to solicit DVBE participation in all contracts awarded. Proof of DVBE advertising will be required with bids. Pre-qualification requirements: All general, prime, mechanical, electrical, and plumbing contractors must be pre-qualified to bid for construction projects valued at more than $1,000,000. Any bid submitted by a non-prequalified bidder will be deemed nonresponsive and returned unopened. Any bid listing subcontractors holding C-4, C-7, C-10, C-11, C-16, C-20, C-34, C-36, C-38, C-42, C-43, or C-46 licenses who are not prequalified will also be deemed nonresponsive and not considered. Subcontractors with these classifications must submit a prequalification package. The method of Contractor Selection has not been Determined at this time.
