Renovation of an educational facility in Sparks, Nevada. Completed plans call for the renovation of a educational facility.
Scope of Work: Replace the Domestic Hot Water, Cold Water, and Hot Water Return serving Building A. See attached Detailed Scope of Work for additional details. The completion date for this work is August 9, 2025, for the entire Scope of Work as priced in the Base Bid. In the event the Contractor is unable to complete the work by August 9, 2026, work will be required to be continuous through completion with all work before or after school hours and classrooms ready for school the following day. Any work after August 9, 2026 that impacts any and all classrooms and restrooms will require the contractor to provide temporary facilities at their expense. In addition, WCSD is requesting a weekly rate as a unit price on the Bid Form. The Contractor shall provide regular cleaning and supply of eight (8) portable restrooms and four (4) hand washing stations until such time that restroom and sink facilities are useable daily. contractor is responsible for locating all private and public utilities in the work areas prior to the start of any work. o Excavate west side of building A to expose the domestic hot, cold, and return piping. o Intercept existing piping at the exterior edge of the building. o Install new connections and sweep up. o Install new copper piping on the exterior wall to attic elevation. o New copper piping and hangers/supports to be installed on the north side of the attic spaces and suspend it in the north classrooms as depicted in the attachment. o Remove toilets and or urinals in restrooms as needed in the A building restrooms to reconnect to all piping in the chases between restrooms provide new angle stops at all A wing fixtures. Return to original condition or provide access panels. o In exterior restrooms, surface new piping and connect to existing fixtures. Insulate and provide metal chase cover. Paint to match existing wall color. o Run piping out of the east side of the building along the building edge. o Excavate east side of the building to expose the piping. o Install new connectors and sweep down. o Intercept the piping and make final connections. o Flush piping and function test system. o Install heat trace on all piping at exterior locations. o Connect heat trace to nearest open circuit in building A. o Label the breakers and update the panel schedules. o Install insulation and fittings on all new piping throughout. o Install labels on all piping insulation at exterior locations and in attic spaces. o Install metal chase covers on east and west exterior piping and paint to match east wall color. o Permitting: The Contractor shall be responsible for all engineering, design, and permitting including fees to complete project. o As-Built Drawings: Contractor shall provide as-built drawings at project completion. o Code Compliance: All work shall be performed within strict conformance to the minimum standards of the current edition of the adopted building codes of the authority having Jurisdiction and all applicable national, state, and local laws, regulations, and OrdinancesSafety: The Contractor shall be responsible for the general safety during construction, and all work shall conform to pertinent safety regulations. o Supervision: The Contractor shall supervise and direct the work, using its best skill and attention. It shall be solely responsible for all construction means, methods, techniques, sequences and procedures and for coordinating all portions of the work under the contract. o Acts and Omissions: The Contractor shall be responsible for the acts and omissions of its employees. o Completion: The Contractor shall pursue work in a continuous and diligent manner to ensure a timely completion of the project. o Site Cleanliness: The Contractor at all times shall keep the premises free from accumulation of waste materials or rubbish caused by its operations. At the completion of the work, it shall remove all its waste materials and rubbish from and about the project as well as all its tools, construction equipment, machinery, and surplus materials. o Protection: The Contractor will be responsible to protect contents ensure no dust or debris or damage occurs inside the work areas and adjacent areas. o Purchase of Pre-Manufactured or Prefabricated Materials: Where pre-manufactured or prefabricated items and/or materials are to be installed the Contractor shall verify rough or finished dimensions in the field prior to purchase or fabrication. o Guarantee: The Contractor shall guarantee all work and materials to be free from defects for a minimum of one (1) year from date of final acceptance and promptly remedy such defects and any subsequent damage caused by the defects or repair thereof, at no expense to the owner. Guarantee periods of greater than one (1) year may be required and contained within the contract documents. o Scheduling: The contractor is to coordinate with WCSD for scheduling. o Lead and Asbestos Containing Materials: This project is assumed to have lead and asbestos containing materials and the contractor is responsible to review all MDP's and handle all materials appropriately Range Low $270,000.00 High $330,000.00 For questions and clarifications regarding the Technical Specifications, Drawings, General Conditions, Special Conditions, Bidding and Contract Information contact the Purchasing Department at solicitations@washoeschools.net.
