The City of Centralia is seeking sealed proposals from qualified contractors for the removal, hauling, and land application/disposal of lime sludge from the City’s lime ponds at the water treatment facility. The project includes complete removal of lime sludge from three ponds totaling approximately 1.5 acres, with an estimated 19,359 cubic yards, or 3,910,212 gallons, of soft lime sludge to be removed. The selected contractor will be responsible for all labor, equipment, removal methods, hauling, coordination with local farmers or landowners, land application/disposal, and site restoration for any areas damaged during the work. The water treatment plant must remain operational throughout the project. Contractors must have at least five years of lime disposal experience and provide references for similar work. Sealed proposals must be submitted to City Hall. Late submissions will not be accepted. The City reserves the right to reject any and all bids and to waive informalities in the bidding process.
