Renovation of a warehouse / distribution facility in Garland, Texas. Completed plans call for the renovation of a warehouse / distribution facility.

The City of Garland is soliciting proposals for the Trench Drain Installation and Metal Wall Repair at the Recycling Center Question Deadline 06/02/2026 at 5:00 PM CT Any questions pertaining to this request must be submitted through online. The City is not obligated to and may at its own discretion choose not to accept or answer questions received after that date. Scope of Work - Trench Drain Installation 1. Provide all labor, materials, equipment, and supervision required for trench drain installation per plans 2. Perform all work in accordance with City of Garland, TxDOT, and project specifications 3. Sawcut and remove existing concrete pavement within limits 4. Demolish and dispose of existing slotted trench drain system 5. Remove and dispose of existing piping, grate inlets, and corrugated piping 6. Dispose of all demolition materials off-site 7. Furnish and install approximately 75 LF of trench drain system 8. Provide an additional 22 LF of linear excavation at same trench depth as shown in plans 9. Concrete will be moved with excavators. Hydro excavation will be done only around the edges of the trench to determine if there are any buried lines running through the center. If clear the remaining work can be done with excavators. 10. Remove and replace three concrete sections (3'x30', 3'x25', and 4'x4') not included in the original plans, using the same concrete specifications as the surrounding areas. 11. Install ABT Trench Former System with ductile iron grates 12. Provide heavy-duty load-rated trench drain system suitable for industrial traffic 13. Install trench drain at minimum 0.6% slope for positive drainage 14. Install anchors, rails, grate locking system, and all appurtenances 15. Install heavy-duty reinforced concrete pavement around trench drain 16. Provide high early strength concrete (3200 PSI @ 24 hours, 4000 PSI @ 28 days) 17. Install #6 longitudinal rebar @ 8" O.C. and #5 transverse rebar @ 48" O.C. 18. Perform monolithic concrete pour integrating trench drain system 19. Install control joints per project details 20. Tie new concrete pavement into existing pavement 21. Excavate trench to required depth for trench drain installation 22. Install crushed stone base (TxDOT Type A) 23. Place and compact select fill in lifts per specifications 24.Compact subgrade and base per TxDOT requirements 25. Install 12" PVC storm drainpipe 26.Maintain minimum 1.0% slope on storm drain piping 27.Connect trench drain system to proposed storm drain piping 28. Tie into existing 12" storm drain system 29. Field verify existing pipe elevation and material prior to connection 30. Provide proper couplings for connections to existing infrastructure 31. Replace removed pavement with heavy-duty concrete pavement 32. Sawcut pavement minimum 12" beyond trench limits for restoration 33. Restore finished grades to ensure drainage toward trench drain 34. Provide traffic-rated steel plates (HS-20 minimum) over trench during construction 35. Prevent ponding and maintain site drainage throughout construction 36. Verify all existing utilities prior to excavation 37.Coordinate tie-ins and shutdowns with Owner 38. Adjust installation based on field conditions with Engineer approval 39. Provide compaction and concrete testing reports 40. Provide as-built drawings with final elevations and alignment 41. Perform concrete placement and trench drain installation within recommended temperature range to ensure proper performance of high-early strength mix and compatibility with wateractivated form release agents, verify the concrete mix will meet the temperature range for this installation. 42. All work to be done after hours and overnight we will only have 3 days to complete (Friday, Saturday, and Sunday) Monday is for curing. 43. Provide lighting for both working locations during project duration 44. Final cleaning, make sure it is ready for turnover. Scope of Work - Metal Wall Repair 1. Provide all labor, materials, tools, and equipment to remove and replace approximately 96 LF of existing 1/4" steel plate along the back wall of the recycling center 2. Remove and dispose of all existing steel, fasteners, and associated materials; clean and prep work area 3. Saw cut existing concrete at base of wall to allow new steel plate to be embedded for added protection against lifting/peeling 4. Furnish and install new 1/4" steel plate (4' high) across full 96 LF span 5. Install 3" x 3" section of 3/8" angle iron at base to support steel plate, anchored with concrete anchors 6. Rework and adjust existing top angle iron to properly connect upper and lower steel sections 7. Remove all debris and leave site clean upon completion 8. Contractor to verify field measurements and comply with all applicable safety standards and regulations 9. Contractor shall maintain appropriate fire prevention and safety equipment on site, including water, fire extinguishers, and other required safety measures, during all hot work operations. The City has established the award basis for this solicitation as the vendor providing the Lowest Responsible Bid for consideration. Lowest Responsible Bidder means the responsive bidder submitting the lowest price whose experience, financial capability, bonding capacity, safety record, past contract performance, and ability to successfully perform the work are determined acceptable by the City. The City reserves the right to reject any or all bids, waive minor informalities, and determine the lowest responsive and responsible bidder in accordance with applicable Texas law.
