Request for Qualifications (RFQ) From Consulting Firms With Expertise in Civil Engineering and Traffic Engineering Design. This Agreement Will Be Approximately One Year in Duration With the Option for the City of Seatac to Extend It for Additional Time and Money if Necessary. It is Expected the Contract Will Be Executed and Work Will Begin by March 2027. The City of Seatac Reserves the Right to Retain the Services of the Successful Firm for Any Subsequent Phases Associated With This Project, Which May Include Design Support During Construction and Construction Management. Project Description: The Proposed Project Will Construct Pedestrian Safety Improvements at Multiple Locations Citywide as Detailed Below: Pedestrian Refuge Islands: West Leg of South 200th Street & Military Road South; State Route 518 Exit Ramp at Des Moines Memorial Drive South; North Leg and South Leg of South 200th Street & 26th Avenue South; East Leg of South 188th Street & 42nd Avenue South Rectangular Rapid Flashing Beacon Crossings: East Leg of South 136th Street & 16th Avenue South; West Leg of South 136th Street & 20th Avenue South; West Leg of South 128th Street & 20th Avenue South; South Leg of South 128th Street & Military Road South; South Leg of South 135th Street & Military Road South; South Leg of South 140th Street & Military Road South; South Leg of South 148 Street & Military Road South Mountable Curb Median: North Leg of Des Moines Memorial Drive South & South 144th Street Project Sites May Require Construction of Americans With Disabilities Act (Ada) Compliant Curb Ramps, Installation of Ada Compliant Pedestrian Signals & Push Buttons, Minor Stormwater Modifications, Street Level Lighting, Installation of Video Traffic Detection System, Updates to Signal Timing, Traffic Signal Head Replacement, Asphalt Paving, and Channelization. In Addition, Twenty-two (22) Intersections Within the City Will Be Evaluated for Leading Pedestrian Interval (Lpi) and Pedestrian Recall. The Consultant Shall Design the Signal Timing Modifications if the Evaluation Determines They Are Warranted. Points Organization of the Project Team Along With Qualifications of Key Personnel 20 Firm's Recent Experience Designing Similar Projects 20 Project Understanding and Approach 30 Ability to Meet Schedule 10 Design Experience in Federally Funded Projects 10 Approach to Meet the Voluntary Sbe Goal 10 Total 100 Following Evaluation of Soqs, the City Will Interview Up to Three (3) Firms. nterviews Will Be Held Virtually.
