It will be the responsibility of the contractor before submitting a bid to verify the playground estimated square footage. Locations: Option I: Davisville Academy School & NKSD Early Learning Center - 50 East Court, North Kingstown, RI Rear Playground blacktop is 14,180 ft.2 Option II: Fishing Cove Elementary School - 110 Wickford Point Road, North Kingstown, RI The rear playground blacktop is 9963 ft.2 including the two asphalt pathways. 8500 ft.2 just for the main playground blacktop. Contractor will be responsible for : o Asphalt restoration patching , over -layment of asphalt , crack -filling / crack -sealing , sealcoating , and re - striping playgrounds . School Def Asphalt restoration patching includes neatly saw - cutting the perimeters of the deteriorated and damaged asphalt pavement , and its replacement per industry standards . Asphalt over -lay includes preparing existing pavement , edge -milling at curbs , ramps , and other joints according to industry standards , leveling when necessary , adjusting for drainage when ponding issues exist , and applying appropriate binder coat . o Crack -sealing includes diamond cut and removal and damaged asphalt . filling , and banding with crack sealant . Industry standards Federal Specifications SS-S- 164 Seal -coating includes two coats of asphalt coal tar emulsion sealer , per industry standards . Asphalt for seal coating comply with industry standards CRS-2 or CRS-2 Re-Striping the playgrounds using standard Vinyl Acrylic traffic paint . Before proceeding with the project , the field layout shall be inspected and approved . Proceeding without District's approval will require the Contractor to reapply surface seal and re - stripe upon approval of the District Representative , at the Contractor's expense o All excavated pavement , debris , and other waste materials shall be removed from the site and disposed of legally . All work and materials shall comply applicable Federal , State , and Municipal codes and standards Protecting Surface Seal : The Contractor shall provide such flaggers and barricades as required to protect the uncured surface seal . Protect the asphaltic concrete paved areas from traffic until the sealer is set and cured and does not pick up under foot or wheeled traffic . Any damage to the uncured surface seal shall be the responsibility of the Contractor . All contractors bidding this RFP shall be licensed in the state of R.I. for all trades included in this RFP, and will not be allowed to sub -contract any of the services required without prior authorization from the North Kingstown School Department . The successful contractor incurs all cost , regardless of cause . Copies of licenses and insurance must be submitted with a bid offer . Contractor must conform to RI Prevailing Wage Requirements , set forth in RIDLT Municipal Contract Addendum , Prevailing Wage Requirements (RIGL 37-13-1 Et Seq ).
