Site work for a bridge / tunnel in Kragmont, British Columbia. Completed plans call for site work for a bridge / tunnel.
This tender includes the detailed design and scope of work to replace the existing pedestrian bridge at the Kikomun Creek Provincial Park. In general, the work consists of the following: .1 The work of this Contract consists of the supply and installation of materials, including all labour, equipment and tools related to the Surveyors Lake Bridge Replacement, all in accordance with the drawings and specifications, and for the prices tendered in the Schedule of Quantities and Unit Price Table. .2 The components of the work are generally described as follows: a. Supply and install two (2) cast-in-place concrete abutments complete with steel reinforcement, frost cushion and three (3) screw piles per each abutment with minimal ground disturbance under original abutment footprint. b. Design, Supply and install 18.0 m clear-span, pre-engineered prefabricated aluminum bridge complete with sliding bearings, bearing plates, anchor bolts, transition cover plates as designed by the bridge fabricator, aluminum dripthrough decking, and railings as shown on the Contract Drawings. Shop drawings shall be prepared, sealed, and signed by a Structural Engineer registered with EGBC and submitted to ISL Engineering for review and approval prior to fabrication. c. Remove and dispose of existing wooden bridge and all related components. d. The work site is primarily accessible by helicopter, with the staging area located at the Upper Parking Lot of Saunders Day Use Area. Removal of the existing bridge span and installation of the new bridge span, as well as transport of all major materials and equipment, will be conducted by helicopter. Personnel and limited small equipment may access the site via an existing 1.0 m wide machine-built access trail. Any impacted trails shall be reclaimed once construction has been completed complete. Schedule: Commence the Work: on or before the 5th day of October 2026. Substantial Performance: on or before the 23rd day of November 2026.
