The scope of work consists of furnishing and installing the following approximate quantities: curb & gutter 450 LF, asphalt pavement 360 TON, removal of sidewalks 3,250 SF, installation of 4" concrete 2,950 SF, 6" concrete valley gutter 1,800 SF, 5" concrete with macrofibers 400 SF, subgrade preparation 1,950 SY, Class V gravel 650 TON, 18" CMP storm sewer 100 LF, alternate for 5" concrete with macrofibers 11,664 SF, and related items. Each bid must be accompanied by a separate envelope containing a Bidder's Bond in a sum equal to five percent of the full amount of the bid, executed by the bidder as principal and by a surety. If the principal's bid is accepted and the contract awarded, the principal shall execute a contract within ten days in accordance with the terms of the bid and provide a Contractor's Bond as required. The bidder must be licensed for the full amount of the bid. No bid may be read or considered if it does not comply fully with these requirements; any deficient bid will be resealed and returned immediately. Bidders are required to comply with Executive Orders No. 11246, as amended, 11458, 11518, and 11625, with specific requirements explained in the specifications. Plans and specifications are available for examination and purchase at designated locations. All bids must be made on a cash payment basis. The owner reserves the right to reject any or all bids or portions thereof and to award the contract in the owner's best interests. The owner also reserves the right to hold the three lowest bids for sixty-one days after the bid opening to complete financial arrangements. After the contract is awarded, the remaining unsuccessful bidder's bond will be returned. The construction must be completed by the specified completion date.
