Renovation of a laboratory facility in US Air Force, Colorado. Conceptual plans call for the renovation of a laboratory facility.
The project consists of modernization and renovation of an existing facility at the United States Air Force Academy to transform the interior into a state-of-the-art research environment while preserving the historic exterior character. The scope includes upgrades to interior finishes, repairs to interior walls and ceilings, and comprehensive mechanical, electrical, and plumbing system improvements. Interior renovations will increase the number of available researcher workstations, enhance Cadet study areas, and update existing classrooms in alignment with the Classroom of the Future concept. Cadet workshop areas will be improved to support modern rapid prototyping and production methods, including 3D printing. The design incorporates replacement of exterior glazing to meet current antiterrorism and force protection requirements without adversely impacting the historic exterior appearance of the facility. In accordance with DFARS 236.204, the magnitude of this project is expected to range between $10 Million and $25 Million The Method of Contractor Selection has not been determined at this Time. *The value for this project is based on a financial range.
