Renovation of a recreation facility in Stony Point, New York. Completed plans call for the renovation of a recreation facility.
CR#: 2135507 The Reptile, Amphibian, and Fish building (approximately 600 square feet) at Trailside Zoo is undergoing a large-scale renovation. This renovation includes the installation of 23 new custom tanks, associated Life Support Systems (LSS), and necessary tank racks. The purpose of this project is to improve animal welfare and animal husbandry, increase public engagement, and allow Trailside Zoo to exhibit species not currently on display. Meeting the purpose and goal of the project requires installation of quality exhibits that are designed in consideration of building limitations, species specific needs, and ease of husbandry. The zoo will exhibit at least 28 different species of fish, amphibians, and reptiles. Trailside Zoo requires a qualified company to design, build, and install zoo/aquarium tanks, life support systems (LSS), and dynamic tankscaping to represent the specific habitats of the Hudson Valley in which the displayed animals would live in the wild. Trailside Zoo requires a vendor to: 1.) Design 23 tanks, LSS, tankscaping, and create construction documents that depict necessary mechanical connections; 2.) Fabricate tanks using specified materials, meeting necessary husbandry requirements and animal welfare needs, conforming to building codes, and considering visitor safety; 3.) Fabricate and install LSS adequate to support the aquatic and semi-aquatic habitats with specific commercial grade, warrantied components; 4.) Install tanks and life support systems and required electrical and plumbing connections, and; 5.) Demonstrate the functions of the systems and guarantee the work for 2- 5 years, depending on the individual pieces of equipment and as specified in this document. Question Deadline 06/24/2026 Any questions must be submitted in writing to Kerry Gallagher (Kerry.gallagher@parks.ny.gov) with a copy to bids@pipc.org so that answers can be shared among all potential bidders.
