This is a highway resurfacing project involving asphalt pavement work and seal coating on county roads in Richland County, Ohio. Requires ODOT prequalification for this work type and 100% bid bond or 10% certified check. The project 2026 CCAP Resurfacing consists of 8.713 miles of Cold Constructed Asphalt Pavement on various roads in Richland County, Ohio. Question Deadline 06/04/2026 at 4:00 PM ET Every request for such interpretation should be in writing addressed to Richland County Engineer, 77 North Mulberry Street, Mansfield, Ohio 44902, or through Bid Express, and to be given consideration must be received at least seven days prior to the date fixed for the opening of bids This work shall consist of providing all the labor, material, equipment, transportation, temporary offsite staging area property for the production and storage for furnishing and paving a Cold Constructed Asphalt Pavement (CCAP). The CCAP for this project will be a single course of aggregates and bituminous material mixed in a pugmill plant. The CCAP will be spread, seated, and choked with aggregate on a prepared surface. The completed CCAP shall be constructed in reasonably close conformity with the line, grade, and typical sections shown on the plan or established by the Engineer. All described work shall be in accordance with the requirements set forth within these specifications and plans. A. Faulty Work and Non-conforming Work. 1. Faulty Work (or Work not in conformance with the Contract Documents) shall not be permitted. 2. The Contractor shall remove such Work or propose a remedy by means of detailed drawing and written documentation; submit such documentation to the Engineer for his approval. 3. The Contractor shall pay all costs for removal of faulty and Non-conforming Work, 4. If within one year after the date of Substantial Completion (or such longer period of time as may be prescribed by the terms of any applicable special guarantee required by the Contract Documents) or by any specific provision of the Contract Documents, any Work is found to be defective, or if the repair of any damages to the land or areas made available for Contractor's use by Owner or permitted by Laws and Regulations is found to be defective, Contractor shall promptly, without cost to Owner and in accordance with Owner's written instructions: 8b a. repair such defective land or areas; or b. correct such defective Work; or c. if the defective Work has been rejected by Owner, remove it from the Project and replace it with Work that is not defective, and d. Satisfactorily correct or repair or remove and replace any damage to other Work, to the work of others or other land or areas resulting therefrom. B. Defective Work Where defective Work (and damage to other Work resulting therefrom) has been corrected or removed and replaced, the correction period hereunder with respect to such Work will be extended for an additional period of one year after such correction or removal and replacement has been satisfactorily completed. C. Cold Mix & Choke Aggregate 1. One course of CCAP with Choke Aggregate shall be performed on Champion Road (CR-182), Beam Road (CR-51) and Bunkerhill North Road (CR-108) in Richland County, totaling approximately 8.713 miles. 2. Areas to be paved will be marked with paint by the County Engineer, or an authorized representative, prior to releasing the Work to the Contractor. 3. All roads are to be paved for their full width, 1 1/2 " (average depth - Beam & Bunkerhill Roads) and 1 3/4 " (average depth - Champion Road), single course of Cold Mix (CCAP). The Cold Mix (CCAP) shall be choked with a #9 limestone aggregate applied at a rate of 12 pounds per square yard. 4. All work includes preparation of the existing road surface. Surface Preparation for the Cold Mix shall be included in the bid Item SPECIAL - Cold Constructed Asphalt Pavement. D. County Coordination Coordinate Cold Mix Paving with Choke Aggregate operations with the Richland County Road Superintendent (or other designated representative of the Engineer) prior to proceeding with the Work, as all County Work specified shall be under hissupervision and control.
