Renovation of a municipal facility in Markham, Ontario. Conceptual plans call for the renovation of a municipal facility.

This study involves a review of the current condition of exterior doors and windows, to be conducted by a heritage consultant. The windows and doors serve as part of the exterior envelope and as important heritage and architectural features. Though they meet local standards as architectural elements, they have suffered more than expected deterioration and, as part of the building envelope, they do not perform well, leading to increased GHG consumption due to poor heat retention. The study will identify optimum replacement and repair solutions (including options) for end-of-life replacement. The heritage consultant will determine the necessary short- and long-term upgrades or replacements, and provide recommendations regarding proprietary and non-proprietary systems, with a preference for non-proprietary upgrade approaches. The final report shall highlight options and a phased approach for remediation and upgrade of exterior doors and windows, including justification for the project, cost estimate options, and timelines. The consultant is to review the current BECI report and its recommendations for the windows and doors. Bids must be submitted online.
