Renovation of an educational facility in Ypsilanti, Michigan. Completed plans call for the renovation of a educational facility.
The Department of Technology, Management and Budget, on behalf of the Michigan Department of Corrections, is requesting professional services for a Phase 100 Study to determine the best course of action to enhance all existing Housing Unit shower areas. The showers are located in 15 buildings encompassing both the east and west side of the facility. See attached Key Site Map and Plans. The showers should be evaluated for all infrastructure , including Electrical (power and lighting ), HVAC (air flow / ventilation requirements ), Plumbing, Architectural (wall, ceiling and floor material and finishes ). The architectural finishes component will determine if the existing ceramic tile and grout walls should be replaced or encapsulated with a different material , if the ceilings should be replaced with a different material , and include a recommendation for floor finish . The proposed finishes should inhibit moisture buildup , be easy to clean , be durable , and floors should be non -slip . Professional services study for shower renovations across multiple halls including HU, Calhoun, Edickson, Emmet, Fillmore, Gladwin, Harrison, Jennings, Kent, and RGC.
