Site work for a water / sewer project in Waterloo, Ontario. Completed plans call for site work for a water / sewer project.
The Region of Waterloo requires upgrades to the influent, return activated sludge (RAS), and effluent pumping and control systems at the Waterloo Wastewater Treatment Plant. For the influent pumping system, the work includes replacing existing variable frequency drives (VFDs), incorporating bypass control, and replacing the existing backup control with a new backup control system. For the RAS system, the upgrades include adding additional automation for both new and existing valves, as well as installing flow and level instrumentation to improve system control. For the effluent pumping system, the scope includes replacing the existing VFDs with new units that incorporate bypass control, along with the implementation of a completely new backup control system.
