Furnish and install a new set of traction steel hoist ropes , 5/8 " diameter , of proper size and characteristics matching equipment requirements (8x19 construction or as specified by elevator OEM ). Attach new ropes to existing hitch plates ; install new wedge shackles as required . Verify proper rope length , unhang car and counterweight , and run elevator .
