Site work and paving for a civil project in Sparta, Wisconsin. Completed plans call for site work for a water / sewer project; and bridge / tunnel.
The work includes clearing and grubbing; installation of approximately 4700 linear feet of ductile iron water mains (6-inch and 8-inch) with all associated fittings and appurtenances; installation of water services; replacement of existing storm sewer culverts (18-inch and 30-inch); installation of two water main crossings under STH 27 using trenchless methods; removal of existing asphaltic pavement on Idol Avenue; reconstruction of base aggregate and asphaltic concrete pavement on Idol Avenue where currently paved; erosion control and turf restoration for the disturbed project area; and abandonment of two existing private wells. Bids must be accompanied by a certified check or bid bond equal to at least 5% of the bid amount as a guarantee that the bidder will execute and file the proper contract and bond within 15 days of the award. Bids may not be withdrawn within 60 days after opening. Minimum wages must comply with Federal Davis Bacon Wage Rates using the latest rate at the time of bid opening. Disadvantaged Business Enterprises (including Minority-owned, Women’s, and Small Businesses in Rural Areas) are encouraged to submit proposals, and there is a goal of 15% participation for MBE/WBE utilization. Contractors must conform to the 'Use of American Iron and Steel' provision for all iron and steel products used. The Owner reserves the right to waive informalities or reject any or all bids.
