This project consists of the replacement of a culvert on Norton Rd in Middlesex. Flooding in 2024 damaged the culvert and roadway on Norton Rd. Following the flood, the crossing was repaired utilizing a 48 CMP culvert which is undersized . The project will consist of removal of the existing CMP, and installation of an 81 x 59 corrugated metal pipe arch and steel headwall. In addition, the project proposes stabilization at the outlet of the culvert and along banks of the North Branch of the Winooski surrounding the outlet, and minor channel grading upstream of the culvert to achieve the proposed slopes. The Town has ordered the culvert and will pay for manufacturing and delivery of the structure. It shall be the responsibility of the contractor to provide equipment for the removal of the pipe arch from the delivery truck and the proper installation of the culvert.
