The project consists of two stream crossing replacements on Lower Sunny Brook Road. Each crossing currently has side by side 60-inch CMP culverts. The proposed work includes installing a temporary roadway crossing (either upstream or downstream of the main crossing depending on the site), removing the existing CMPs, and installing an 18-foot by 6-foot concrete box culvert with headwalls and wing walls at each inlet and outlet. This project consists of the replacement of two (2) culverts on Lower Sunny Brook Rd (Lower Sunny Brook Rd (North), and Lower Sunny Brook Rd (South)). The two sites are being bid together. Bidders must provide bids to support replacement of both structures in sequence. Flooding in 2024 damaged the culverts and roadway in two locations along Lower Sunny Brook Rd. Following the flood, the two damaged crossings were repaired utilizing two side by side 60" CMP culverts at each site. Both crossing locations have waste block headwalls at the inlet and outlet and are experiencing streambed material deposition and clogging based on how undersized they are. There is approximately 800 feet between the two sites. The project will consist of installation of a temporary roadway crossing (up or downstream of the main crossing depending on the site), removal of the existing CMPs, and installation of an 18' x 6' concrete box culvert with headwalls and wing walls at each inlet and outlet. In addition, the project proposes bank stabilization surrounding the proposed culvert and minor channel grading to achieve the proposed slopes following the removal of the temporary roadway. The Town has ordered the two (2) concrete box culverts and will pay for manufacturing and delivery of the structures. It shall be the responsibility of the contractor to provide a crane for the removal of the pre-cast from the delivery truck and the proper installation of the culverts. completion date of October 1, 2026
