Site work for a sidewalk / parking lot in Davenport, Iowa. Completed plans call for site work for a sidewalk / parking lot.
The proposed work includes all labor, materials, tools, supplies, utility and transportation services, equipment and all incidentals necessary for the 2026 Alley Cost Share Program. All work shall be done in strict compliance with the plans and specifications prepared by City Staff. Bids must be submitted electronically, and late, paper, faxed, or emailed bids will not be accepted. Prices should be free of all sales taxes; a tax exemption certificate will be issued for construction materials incorporated into real property for this project. For bids over $100,000, a Bid Bond of 5% is required, and a Performance Bond equal to 100% of the contract amount will be required from the awarded contractor. The contractor shall complete all work, including final cleanup and removal of equipment, within 35 working days. Liquidated damages are set at $1,000 per day. Manufacturers' written warranties and guarantees are required from the awarded bidder. A Certificate of Insurance for General Liability, Workers Compensation, and Vehicle insurance coverages must be included with the bid submittal. The City reserves the right to reject any or all bids and waive technicalities and irregularities. Contractors must ensure non-discrimination in employment. Potential prime contractors are encouraged to contact DBE sub-contractors. Brady St. Alley (Alley 1): Between Brady Street and Perry Street from East 14th Street to East 15th Street. Gaines St. Alley (Alley 2): Between West 16th Street and West 15th Street from Gaines Street and Scott Street. The City of Davenport is accepting bids for the 2026 Alley Cost Share Program. This project is located at two alleys in Davenport. Alley 1 is located between Brady Street and Perry Street from E 14th Street to E 15th Street. Alley 2 is located between W 16th Street and W 15th Street from Gaines Street to Scott Street. The proposed improvements include, but are not limited to, for Alley 1 the furnishing of all labor for the milling of existing 2" of asphalt pavement, placement of 2" of asphalt surface material, for the length of the project, full depth patching, geo fabric / grid materials if needed, replacement of the adjacent driveway approaches, reconstruction of sidewalk at the intersections including ADA ramp construction, topsoil and sodding, and erosion control. The proposed improvements include, but are not limited to, for Alley 2 the furnishing of all labor for the removal of the PCC and HMA roadway pavement for the length of the project, full depth aggregate stone base material, geo fabric / grid materials if needed, reconstruction of the roadway with a PCC alley approaches and HMA pavement, reset all existing utility surface features to finish grade, replacement of the adjacent driveway approaches, reconstruction of sidewalk at the intersections including ADA ramp construction, topsoil and sodding, and erosion control. Bids must be submitted through the City of Davenport e-bidding system (https://davenport.ionwave.net); no emails, faxes, paper copies or any other submission method will be accepted. Within the system, each tab of the Invitation to Bid must be reviewed and responded to accordingly.
