The project includes the replacement of the existing Ultraviolet disinfection system at the Authority's wastewater treatment plant. The work consists of in-kind replacement with two new channels, a pneumatic wiping system, new controller, two UV intensity sensors, low level shut offs, a spare parts kit, and all other necessary appurtenances. The contractor is responsible for bypass pumping and ensuring adequate disinfection of bypassed effluent during the work. Bidders are required to submit a bid bond equal to 10% of the total bid amount, with sureties authorized to operate in Pennsylvania. The successful bidder must provide Performance and Payment Bonds each equal to 100% of the contract price. Pennsylvania Prevailing wage rates apply, as does the Steel Products Procurement Act for all steel used. Contractors and subcontractors must comply with the Public Works Employment Verification Act and verify employment eligibility via the federal e-verify program. Bidders must have completed similar projects and provide a Qualifications Statement for themselves and all subcontractors with their bid. The contract will be awarded to the lowest responsible bidder or all bids will be rejected within specified timeframes. The owner reserves the right to reject any or all bids or waive informalities.
