The purpose of this project is to improve stormwater conveyance capacity, address aging or failing infrastructure, reduce localized flooding, and restore proper drainage along the corridor. A. Project Overview o Removal and replacement of existing stormwater pipe infrastructure o Excavation of buried stormwater facilities covered by soil and vegetation o Installation of new storm drainage piping, structures, and appurtenances o Regrading, reshaping, and stabilization of open roadside swales o Roadway, driveway, sidewalk, and landscape restoration o Traffic control and maintenance of residential access o Erosion and sediment control measures o Utility coordination and protectionThe project area includes approximately: o 5,500 LF of stormwater piping o Pipe sizes ranging from 12 to 24 inches o Existing open swales along both sides of the residential roadways o Multiple residential driveway crossings and utility conflicts C. Scope of Work - The selected Contractor shall provide all labor, materials, equipment, supervision, permitting assistance, and incidentals necessary to complete the work. C.1 - Existing Conditions Investigation: o Verify existing pipe alignments, elevations, and conditions o Locate all utilities prior to excavation o Perform exploratory potholing as required o Identify conflicts with water, sewer, gas, electric, communications, and irrigation systems o Maintain positive drainage during construction C.2 - Stormwater Pipe Replacement - Work Includes: o Excavation of existing buried stormwater piping o Removal and disposal of deteriorated pipe materials o Installation of new stormwater piping including: ? HDPE, RCP, or PVC pipe as specified ? Bedding and backfill per applicable standards ? Manholes, inlets, junction boxes, and end treatments o Dewatering operations as necessary o Compaction testing and quality control C.3 - Open Swale Improvements - Contractor shall: o Regrade roadside swales to design elevations o Remove sediment buildup and obstructions o Restore positive drainage flow lines o Stabilize swales with sod, seed, erosion matting, or riprap where required o Maintain drainage access to residential properties C.4 - Surface Restoration - Restoration Work Includes:Pavement repair o Driveway restoration within Town ROW - includes concrete and paver aprons o Mailbox replacement/resetting if disturbed o Landscape restoration o Sod replacement with like kind and turf establishment C.5 - Traffic Control and Public Safety - Contractor shall: o Maintain safe residential access at all times o Provide MOT (Maintenance of Traffic) plans o Install signage, barricades, and pedestrian controls o Coordinate lane closures with Owner o Minimize disruption to residents
