Solicitation for sealed bids is open to qualified demolition contractors for the complete demolition, removal, and site restoration of the former Cora Miller Hall at 1127 Chestnut, and associated structures at 1019 Chestnut, both located on the Newman Regional Health campus in Emporia, Kansas. Bids must be submitted in a sealed envelope marked Sealed Bid Cora Miller Hall Demolition. Newman Regional Health will select based on the lowest and best bid, considering price along with the character, integrity, reputation, judgment, and experience of the contractor for this type of work. Newman Regional Health reserves the right to reject any or all bids or waive any informalities in the bidding. PROJECT DESCRIPTION Newman Regional Health is soliciting sealed bids from qualified demolition contractors for the complete demolition and site restoration of the following structures: o School of Nursing - 1127 Chestnut Street o Cora Miller Hall - Adjacent Facility o Residential Structure - 1019 Chestnut Street The intent of this project is to safely demolish and remove the existing improvements and restore the site in accordance with the requirements contained herein. SCOPE OF WORK The successful contractor shall furnish all labor, supervision, materials, equipment, permits, insurance, and incidentals necessary to complete the project. The scope of work should include, but not be limited to, the following: 1. PERMITS AND REGULATORY COMPLIANCE o Obtain and pay for all required permits, licenses, inspections, notifications, and approvals necessary to complete the work. o Comply with all federal, state, and local regulations governing demolition activities. o Coordinate all required inspections and provide documentation of compliance to the Owner. 2. SITE PROTECTION AND SAFETY o Install and maintain temporary perimeter security fencing around all work areas for the duration of the project. o Provide all necessary traffic control, safety signage, and public protection measures. o Restrict unauthorized access to the work site at all times. o Maintain compliance with OSHA requirements and applicable safety standards. 3. DUST, NOISE, AND ENVIRONMENTAL CONTROL o Implement dust suppression measures throughout demolition activities. o Provide water application or other approved dust-control methods as necessary. o Control airborne debris and maintain clean adjacent streets, sidewalks, and properties. o Minimize noise and environmental impacts to surrounding properties. 4. TREE AND SITE PRESERVATION o The Owner desires to preserve as many existing trees as reasonably possible. o Contractors shall exercise care to avoid unnecessary damage to existing trees. o Tree protection measures shall be included as necessary. o Existing retaining walls shall be preserved whenever feasible. Any anticipated impacts to retaining walls shall be identified within the bid proposal. 5. DEMOLITION o Demolish and remove all structures identified in this bid packo Remove all above-grade and below-grade improvements as required. o Remove all foundations, footings, slabs, basement walls, and associated structural components in accordance with accepted industry standards. o Demolition shall include all ancillary structures, associated site improvements, pavement sections directly associated with the buildings, and miscellaneous debris generated by the work.
