The project consists of electrical upgrades to the existing distribution system serving the high school CTE classroom and shop space. Various existing legacy electrical panels are to be replaced with new equipment as required. Existing load centers throughout the shop space are to be refed from the new main distribution panels. Existing electrical panels currently served from the shop panel, including panels serving adjacent areas such as the gymnasium and classroom, are to be refed from appropriate electrical distribution sources and disconnected from the shop panel. The electrical work includes all required conduit, conductors, terminations, disconnects, panel modifications, labeling, and associated work necessary for a complete and operational electrical distribution system. Bids must be made on the Bid Form included in the Project Manual. Oral, facsimile, telegraphic, or telephonic bids or modifications will not be considered. Bid Security in the amount of 5% of the bid in the form of a Bid Bond on form AIA A310, cashier's check, certified share draft, or certified check drawn on an Iowa bank or credit union chartered under the laws of the United States must accompany each bid in a separate, sealed envelope. Bid Security shall be payable to Chariton Community School District. Sales or use tax shall not be included in the bid. Upon award of a contract, the successful Contractor is required to furnish a Performance and Payment Bond equal to 100% of the awarded Contract amount and provide Certificate(s) of Insurance showing required coverage. Preference will be given to products and provisions grown, and coal produced within the State of Iowa, and also to Iowa domestic labor in the construction of the improvements. Final payment to the Contractor shall be made as allowed by the Code of Iowa.
