Sealed proposals are invited for Bid Number CIP26059 DMPS Smouse Pre-School - Kitchen Renovation Project for the construction, repair, and/or installation of improvements. Plans may also be inspected at additional listed locations. Bids must be submitted on the approved bid form from the plans and specifications; oral, facsimile, telegraphic, or telephonic bids or modifications will not be considered. Each bid must include a bid bond, certified check, cashier's check, or certified credit union share draft in a separate envelope for five percent (5%) of the total bid amount. Lump-sum bids under one contract will be received as described in the specifications. Work must commence immediately after contract award and be completed and ready for operation within 180 calendar days of notice to proceed, subject to extensions. Preference is given to products, provisions, and labor from Iowa. All bids must comply with Iowa Code and Board Policies. The Board of Directors reserves the right to reject any or all bids or parts thereof, waive informalities, and award contracts as deemed in the best interests of the district. The project includes: Remove of designated construction items such as 1. Existing designated plaster and masonry walls, doors and frames. 2. Existing quarry tile, vct tile floor, carpeting and designated base. 3. Existing Acoustic ceiling grid and tile. 4. Existing Kitchen hood, stainless sink, hand sink, eye wash fountain. 5. Designated existing, outlets, lights, data and low voltage items as shown on MEP drawings. 6. Installation of the following new items. 7. New Quarry Tile Flooring 8. Painting plaster base. 9. Installation of new and salvaged doors and frames. 10. Install new gypsum board and steel stud walls. 11. Install new hollow metal door and frame in exterior masonry wall including new concrete stoop. 12. Patching new acoustic metal grid ceiling and all new vinyl clad gypsum board tile. 13. New stainless steel kitchen sinks, hood and kitchen equipment. 14. Paint all existing and new wall surfaces in Kitchen area. 15. All designated MEP plumbing, mechanical and electrical per drawings.
