The improvements to Massabesic Lake Dam will consist of ordering and installing a hydraulic crest gate, all related piping, conduits and concrete piping trench, raising of Canal Avenue (north dike) and dam embankments, raising the left (south) dike, raising the concrete parapet wall at the west end area of the canal, reconstruction of the south (left side looking downstream) spillway retaining wall, procurement of a pre-cast concrete structure for the crest gate equipment/controls off the right (north) side of the spillway abutment, and installation of underground electrical service conduit from Lake Shore Road to the precast concrete building including installation of the 200 amp electrical service, conduit, lighting, connection(s) to the crest gate vendor's control system and hydraulic power unit for the crest gate in order to achieve a complete and successful installation of all required components. A building permit will be required from the City of Manchester for this project. Only bids received from qualified contractors will be considered for award. Bids must be completed in both words and numerals on regular bid forms, which shall be submitted in a sealed envelope marked with the project title, addressed and delivered to the Department of Water Works by the specified date and time. Bids must be accompanied by a Certified Check or Bid Bond payable to "City of Manchester, N.H." as security for the execution of the contract for the amount of five percent (5%) of the total amount of the bid. A Performance Bond and a Payment Bond, each in the amount of 100 percent of the contract price, will be required of the successful bidder. Only electronic copies of the bid documents will be made available to prequalified contractors that meet the Section A "Bidding Requirements" of these specifications. The right is reserved to waive any informalities in or reject any or all bids and to accept the bid that is deemed most favorable to the interest of the City of Manchester.
