Renovation of a municipal facility in Reed City, Michigan. Completed plans call for the renovation of a municipal facility.
The Contractor shall provide all labor, materials, and equipment to remove five existing fans and replace them with one exhaust fan to be installed in the gable end of the building. The work includes removal and legal disposal of three supply fans and two exhaust fans, except for the electrical components to be reused for the new exhaust fan. The Contractor must infill the wall openings of four of these fans with 2X framing, plywood, brown colored metal panels, and associated trim that is water-tight, maintenance-free, and creates the appearance of a window opening. Pricing must include all labor, materials, equipment, taxes, insurance, overhead, and profit. The Contractor must acquire all required State of Michigan permits (Mechanical, Electrical), demolish and legally dispose of the existing fan assembly, supply and install one new exhaust fan, verify and repair all wiring and electrical components as needed, and ensure the new fan integrates seamlessly with the existing structure. Contractors are responsible for their own means and methods to access both inside and outside fans, and must coordinate with MDOT staff for salt pile movement. Two-week written notice with a labeled floor plan is required before work. Contractors must field-verify all measurements before ordering equipment and work cooperatively with MDOT staff for salt pile coordination. No extra cost claims will be permitted for modifications necessary to meet code or manufacturer specifications. Contractors must furnish all necessary materials, equipment, tools, supplies, and utilities, perform work during normal MDOT business hours, obtain prior approval for any substitutions, restore all surfaces to match existing conditions, and repair or replace owner property damaged during the work. All work must be performed by appropriately licensed contractors. No demolition or removal may begin prior to authorization from MDOT Project Manager. Contractors are responsible for daily site clean-up. Coordination with the MDOT Project Manager is required to minimize disruption. By submitting a bid, the Contractor acknowledges site inspection and verification of existing conditions. Cost proposals must be submitted electronically using the Bid Summary Form by the designated deadline. The lowest responsive and responsible bidder will be awarded the contract. Payment will be lump sum unless otherwise approved. Submittals must include product data and installation instructions. Daily construction reports with photos are required. All work must be verified by the State Building Inspector, comply with Michigan codes, and all permits must be obtained prior to work. Prevailing wages and all applicable taxes must be paid by the Contractor. Question Deadline 06/22/2026 at 10:30 AM ET Questions must be submitted by email carlsonc7@michigan.gov
