The work consists of the removal and disposal of existing non-rated aluminum storefront window and door systems and furnishing and installing new ballistic-resistant (BR) glazing and framing assemblies. Work includes all designated storefront windows, entrance doors, sidelights, transoms, and associated components designated for ballistic upgrade. The contractor will measure each area and provide a lump sum bid price for the project. All designated window and door components must be replaced with ballistic-resistant materials. Work must be performed in a first-class, workmanlike manner conforming to trade practice, and the contractor is responsible for correcting any deficiencies identified during the final inspection. The contractor is also responsible for scheduling and passing a final inspection with the Facilities and Maintenance Department before any invoice is approved for payment. All work performed under this contract must be guaranteed for a period of one year after final payment against all faulty or imperfect materials and unskilled workmanship. The contractor must field-verify all existing conditions, dimensions, and substrate conditions prior to fabrication, and the work must be phased to maintain courthouse operations and safe public access. The basis of award is anticipated to be the lowest responsive and responsible bid, and completion date in calendar days must be specified. The county reserves the right to charge liquidated damages if the project is not completed as agreed.
