Description

Site work for a mixed-use development in Sandy Bay, Saskatchewan. Conceptual plans call for site work for a water / sewer project; and multi-residential development.

Construction of a new pertinent accommodations facility for Island Falls. SaskPower plans to construct a new permanent housing facility, water treatment building and septic disposal field at the Island Falls Hydroelectric station located on the Churchill River in northern Saskatchewan. As part of this work SaskPower also intends to demolish and remove the old staff house following construction of the new facility to ensure any communication housed within the staff house can be relocated to the new housing facility before demolition work occurs. Operations currently use mobile trailers to house their employees and any contractors that service the power station. The intention is to explore modular construction design for the housing units. Project Location: Island Falls Hydroelectric station located on the Churchill River in northern Saskatchewan. TIMELINE: Request for Proposals for design services is underway. Tender and construction is planned for 2028/2029. Further update pending award of contract. *Budget is unreleased.
